The meek, who read John's letter from Patmos, left Jerusalem several days before the Romans besieged it, and they escaped the wrath to come. You are putting a modern spin on the ancient word, which again is more raisin-picker eisegesis. You twist the scripture to your own destruction. The "world" in the Greek is from KOSMOS and OIKUMENE and was focused on a particular civilization at that time. As time moves from one age to another in the ancient language that is the "end of the world" or the "end of the age" or the "end of the cosmos" and the beginning of a new. The Apostle Paul said it this way: Ephesians 3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. There is no more end in God through Jesus. God is King of the ages per 1 Timothy 1:17. Ephesians 2:7-9 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. The gentile nations even know we are in the ages of God and the miraculous progress and wonders he is doing through mankind: The Iron Age - The Middle Ages - The Age of Enlightenment - The Industrial Age - The Digital Age ... etc. In these ages, of which the present age is one, there is no offering of sacrifice for sins. GOD TOOK SIN OUT OF THE WAY. The Christian idea of a perfect flesh world being the evidence of the Kingdom is nonsense. God does not care about perfecting the flesh. He cares about harvesting souls from the body of death, and raising them up into new bodies immortal in heaven. This flesh world is a harvest ground for the fruit of the spirit that God raises up for himself. God snatches souls out of this world (Hades) and into His, after he has tried them in the fire. He opened the gates so that all may be saved by GRACE, and not of works of the law. God looks down and says to himself something to the effect of, "That one has suffered the trials I demanded of him and his pride is broken. He has learned and seen what I demanded of him," and then he bestows the gift of faith and transforms and snatches that soul to heaven. The soul is to bring it to the throne to be judged and found not guilty by reason of Jesus. God finished his work and established the foundation for a new creation. Jesus is the sabbath day. You are still wandering in the wilderness looking for rest, muttering about the leeks and melons of Egypt. You don't get the gospel at all. We who believe on Jesus rest. We don't try to impress a wrathful God with our own works of righteousness. That is the way of Cain, which has sin lying at the door ready to pounce.
