This shows how much the Witchtower cult despises Jesus Christ. In order to deny the cross they call Jesus' method of death, "impalement." The Romans had a treaty law against impalement of any Judean who was crucified. It was part of the agreement between the governments of Judea and Rome for Judea to be under Roman subjection. Impalement was reserved for those considered the worst of the worst criminals. There is absolutely no way Pilate would have done this to Jesus, especially after finding no actual legal fault in him. Moreover, the bible does not say Jesus was impaled. Thus to claim that Jesus was impaled is a horrific slander and calumny. Christ was not impaled. He was nailed to a cross-beam and the cross-beam was hoisted and fastened to a tree.
