The apostasy is not the differing views of scriptural interpretation on nilly-willy doctrines. The apostasy is the fact that they organized a religious institution. Organizing a religious institution under the laws of the state is apostasy. It is asking Caesar for permission and blessing to do what God has commanded to be done. It is rendering to Caesar that which belongs to God. That's apostasy of the highest order. There is nothing wrong with believers coming together to discuss, debate, preach, and edify one another. But the moment they apply for a license to do this, and erect a temple, and ask the state for permission, they are carrying out apostasy as a business. If believers organize together any kind of organization, it must be SEPARATE from the world. That is what HOLY means--separate. Joining your corporate body to the pagan state or the pagan church model is spiritual fornication and adultery. Paul warned about this, about joining the body to a harlot: "Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body." The fornication spoken of here is spiritual fornication of joining the body of Christ to the harlot state and religious powers. When you ask permission from a harlot, you are joining your body to that harlot spiritually. This is why church organizations are unscriptural. The saints are to have their own form of government separate from the world, not joined to it by incorporation.
