You skipped over Revelation 1:1-3, the first three verses of the book. "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must SHORTLY come to pass; [...] Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the TIME IS AT HAND." John said in no uncertain terms that the things in the book must SHORTLY come to pass, which means IMMANENT, about to happen right now, not 2000 years in the future. Then John reiterated how the things in the book are IMMANENT events by saying, "for the time is AT HAND." The temporal qualifiers "shortly come to pass" and "time is at hand" do not refer to events thousands of years in the future. Jesus also said that his disciple John, who wrote Revelation, would tarry on the earth, and would not die, until all things had come to pass, and the end had come. Jesus also said there were men standing there of that generation who would still be alive at his second coming to judge the nations. It already happened.
